March 17, 2014 Dear Women of Trinity,
Does a nine-week study in some of the best-loved Psalms in Scripture sound like something you would be interested in? Well, if you are not currently attending our Monday night or Wednesday morning Bible study, we would love for you to join us beginning March 24/26. We have just concluded a wonderful six months in the gospel of Mark and for the next nine weeks, we will be studying a selection of Psalms. Come and enjoy fellowship, food, worship, studying God’s Word, and prayer. You can register online Click Here or on Sunday at the Women’s Kiosk or just come that week. Cost for the remainder of the year is $20 and includes the Psalms book and childcare. We’ll look forward to seeing you.
You don’t have to look hard in Scripture to find the Lord’s admonition to keep his word central in our lives.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:15-17
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11
With that in mind, many of us are memorizing Psalm 1 before March 24/26. (We’ve even been offered a reward of a chocolate nature as an incentive! HA!)
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
So join us in memorizing Psalm 1—or not. But join us for sure for a great nine-week study!
In His great name,
Donna Stark and Wendy McKinney
