When I first came to Trinity, I was a very broken person. After a few weeks, I heard about Monday Night Bible Study and thought that it might be a good place for me to rest in the Lord and heal from the world around me. I was right! With no family present in my life and the feeling of loneliness consuming almost every moment of my day, getting together with the women of the Lord provided me with a home I had never known before.
I’ll never forget the first time I came on Monday night. I was tired and felt beat up from the day. I didn’t really know anyone, but when the worship music began and I heard the ladies praising Jesus, all my anxiety, fear, shame, and loneliness melted into tears of joy; I knew that I had found my home.
Sure I was busy, working full-time in a new career and going to school full-time during the evenings to get my MBA. My schedule was overly full, but I never missed a Monday night. The women in my group had become my moms and sisters in Christ. They actively trained and equipped me to face the day and invested their time in caring and loving me through a very difficult time in my life.
It’s an honor for me to be a part of Women’s Ministries and a member of the Body of Christ. There isn’t another place that I’d rather be than at Bible study, learning from those who love the Lord. I encourage you to find the missing element in your life in Scripture by joining a Bible Study. Whether it’s Monday night, Wednesday morning or another day, you will never regret investing your time to study the Word and grow in your knowledge of Christ.
Sarah Cain discipled a small group of women this summer and now serves as a co-leader for Monday night Bible Study.
